Joseph C. Montesano is Chief Executive Officer of D.T.M., Inc. which was founded in 1982.

Since starting in 1982 as a one man operation, his company has grown to a present staff of 16 people, including elevator engineers and elevator mechanics. Building from a one man shop to the present staff was due to his elevator reputation in the New York City Metropolitan Area working 33 years for Westinghouse Elevator Company. The volume of work was obtained through the biggest building owners in tile country. The work involved numerous high rise office buildings, hospitals, department stores and residential buildings. Mr. Montesano was,on the team of professionals that redesigned the original Gimbels Building in New York City on 34th Street to the present A & S Plaza and the team that designed 7 World Trade Center.

During his 33 years with Westinghouse Elevator Company, Mr. Montesano was involved with the engineering of the 60 story Pan Am Building, Roosevelt Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, Beekman Hospital, Sears Tower in Chicago and many 40 to 60 story office buildings on 3rd Avenue, Park Avenue, Lexington Avenue and 6th Avenue in New York City.

One of the most involved projects was leading a team of engineers and mechanics in the modernization of 60 elevators in the R.C.A. Building located in Rockefeller Center, New York City.

In addition to being licensed for elevator inspections by the New York City Department of Buildings, he is also on a team of professionals reviewing what can be done to maintain elevator service during an emergency, such as a fire so that the elevators would be available and safe for use by the firemen.

Mr. Montesano's major experierice working with architects and mechanical engineers allows him to be a major participant and team member of any size project.
